I have 8 years of experience teaching clarinet and saxophone to students of all ages and abilities. My students consistently receive excellent scores on NYSSMA evaluations and have advanced through District, Region, and All-State ensembles throughout the U.S. Past students have been accepted to music programs at Penn State University, University of New Hampshire, and George Washington University.

I am a voice teacher, professional bass-baritone, and scholar of historical vocal pedagogy. My voice studio is rooted in the old Italian school teachings of Manuel García and Francesco Lamperti, which are illuminated through and the revolutionary perspective of Alfred A. Tomatis, a pioneer in psychoacoustics. I have appeared in eighty-two productions with the New York City Opera and Metropolitan Opera, and on Broadway with City Center Encores! My experience as soloist and ensemble member in both classical and musical theatre genres gives me a unique perspective; the knowledge and skill I bring to students is not second-hand speculation, but that of a seasoned artist with more than twenty-five years experience onstage and in the voice studio. I am a very experienced voice teacher of tweens, teens and adults. I had a full career singing opera and operetta, oratorio, lieder recitals, as well as musical theater. I have degrees in vocal performance from the University of Cape Town, South Africa and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London, UK. I have been teaching voice and coaching singers for over 11 years in Westchester County, NY. My students have done very well in NYSSMA, ACD and local musical theater programs, as well as entering good colleges to study musical theater. They have won awards and one student has toured with the National Company in Sister Act. My students learn a very strong classical technique, that will stand them in good stead with many styles of singing and assure them of a healthy and long-lived vocal life. I am patient and kind, as well as being a very engaged and lively teacher. I take a personal interest in each of my students, making sure that I find his/her unique voice, so that he/she can be fully expressed as a musician and a performer, whether it be singing classical music or musical theater with a little pop and church music thrown in for good measure. I teach beginners to adults. Besides teaching classical techniques and repertoire, I teach a very unique method of keyboard harmony which was taught to me by the late Sanford Gold. Meant for the intermediate to advanced student to learn the chord voicings and jazz techniques. Once the method is learned, one can create their own arrangements to any tune. A classical player can transform to a jazz player using this method. Not difficult to comprehend but takes consistent practice on a daily basis.... See More
