I also teach Associated Board of the Royal School of Music Theory. Also, known as ABRSM this is certified theory exam program which is given in over 93 Countries. San Diego based clarinetist Peter Dayeh enjoys an exciting career as both performer and educator. He can frequently be seen playing clarinet and Eb clarinet with the San Diego Symphony and previously has held the position of 2nd clarinet with the Santa Cruz Symphony for six seasons. In addition to this, Dayeh is a regular member of the California Chamber Orchestra as well as the San Diego Winds, a wind ensemble comprised of professional musicians from the Southern California region. His career has led him to share the stage with notable artists and groups, such as The Who, Sarah Brightman, Jodi Benson, and Ledisi to name a few.

While not performing in a large ensemble, Dayeh has a passion for playing chamber music and solo recitals. He has been presented in these capacities by the Fallbrook Music Society, Golden Valley Music Society, Bodhi Tree Concerts, the San Diego Fringe Festival, and La Jolla Music Society.

Dayeh has a robust passion for teaching. He is in demand as a clarinet teacher and maintains a private studio, teaching clarinetists of all ages. His students regularly hold top seats in All State and All Southern honor groups, as well as local honor groups, youth orchestras, and school band programs. Former students who have pursued a music degree in college have been accepted to such prestigious institutions as the Bienen School of Music at Northwestern University, The San Francisco Conservatory of Music, University of Michigan, The Peabody Institute at Johns Hopkins University, and the Herb Alpert School of Music at UCLA, amongst others. In addition to teaching privately he is a clinician at a number of local middle and high schools, teaching groups in a masterclass setting.

Dayeh holds a Bachelor of Music degree from San Diego State University, where he studied clarinet with Dr. Marian Liebowitz; and a Master of Music Degree from Arizona State University, where he studied with internationally acclaimed clarinetist Robert Spring. Furthermore, he has studied with Sheryl Renk of the San Diego Symphony. Piano and Flute Lessons

Chris received his Bachelors in Instrumental Music from California State University Long Beach’s Bob Cole Conservatory of Music, studying under Dr. David Garrett, cellist of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and Joon Sun Jung. He has attended master classes with Johannes Moser, Matt Haimovitz, Andrew Shulman, Joon Sun Jung, and the Alexander String Quartet. He is a registered teacher with the American String Teachers Association and Suzuki Association of the Americas. Chris has completed Suzuki pedagogy with Rick Mooney and Dr. Tanya Carey.

Currently, Chris performs with the Dana Point Symphony as associate principal cello. He was a member of Symphony Irvine, the Montage Civic Orchestra, and the Crystal Cathedral Hour of Power Orchestra. He is a founding member of Love4Cello, a cello quartet based in Los Angeles, where he also serves as the group’s arranger. In 2014, as a member of the Southern California Chamber Ensemble, Chris performed in Nagoya, Japan, with renowned urhu virtuoso George Gao. He is a string coach for Portola High School in Irvine, and is the cello teacher for the Casa Romantica Music Festival Academy. I’m glad you found me. The first thing you need to know is that anyone can improve their voice! Anyone! Singing is a very personal thing, and I enjoy teaching people how to use the voice they were given. Some of my students want to perform as a career; some do it for school, some for therapy! If you are looking for someone to help you prepare for auditions, put together a demo, perform in talent shows or musical theater, I’m what you need! If you are looking for someone to help you feel just a little more confidant because you just LOVE to sing, I can do that too! I will help you feel comfortable using your voice no matter what your goal is!
The studio is located in Eastvale, and each lesson is recorded onto a CD for my students to take home and practice with. Lessons can be in 30, 45 or 60 minute slots, ages 5 to adult. We will work on supporting your sound using your diaphragm, expanding your range and singing with an “open” voice…no straining or tensing of the throat. It is very important to learn the correct way to sing in order to preserve your voice! We only get one…it’s not an instrument you can replace!
