I teach all levels and all ages, with a specialty in adult beginners and adults returning to the piano after an absence. In addition to classical music I teach jazz & pop styles and improvisation. My approach to technique is based on solid understanding of the body (arms, hands, fingers) and not on dull repetition of mechanical exercises. I also emphasize ear training, playing by ear and harmonizing songs, learning about chords and about "how music works."

I accept students from ages 4 up. We have two recitals each year, one for Christmas and one in June. We have one Performance Class each semester.
